Nodomic is a founder-led engineering company in Ratingen, Germany, building software and websites, electronics and the firmware that runs on them, and a sensing product of its own. The hardware on this site is real, the software is live, and the measurements are published with their limits.

Computational science trains a particular discipline: model the system quantitatively, state how uncertain the answer is, and test it against an independent reference before trusting it. The electronics are held to exactly that standard.
Alongside it sits the practice: schematic capture, layout, component selection, sourcing, assembly, bring-up, and revising a board once testing has shown what is wrong with it. It is done the only way it can be, repeatedly, on real boards that either work or do not.

One habit, three fields
The range is unusual, and deliberate. What carries between the fields is not a toolchain. It is measuring something, finding where it is wrong, and saying so in writing.
Computation
Simulating molecules, where the cost depends on how finely you choose to describe them: too rich and the calculation becomes unaffordable, too coarse and the answer is wrong without announcing it. The skill is in that choice, and in search methods for when trying every option is impossible (polarizable QM/MM, force-field optimisation, machine-learned potentials).
Hardware
Electronics, firmware and mechanics for a sensing product: several sensors held on one clock, geometry that is part of the measurement, processing on the device, and results checked against an independent reference. The boards on this site are the ones the published measurements were taken with (PCB layout, real-time firmware, parametric CAD).
Software
Systems built to face real users: platforms that serve many businesses at once, turn each one's own content into answers, connect to the tools it already uses and keep abusive traffic out, with access control designed into the database from the start rather than bolted on later. Alongside them, public engineering tools and websites built to be found (multi-tenant backends, retrieval pipelines, search visibility).
How we work
Small by design. You talk directly to the people doing the engineering.
Nodomic does two related things. It develops its own passive acoustic sensing platform, and it takes client work in software and web development, embedded engineering and firmware, and device design. The product is where the methods get proven: the boards, the firmware and the signal processing are built and measured here, and the results are published with their limits stated rather than asserted. Client work is held to the same discipline.
What Nodomic is not
- Not a contract manufacturer. Boards are assembled here in prototype quantities, for development and testing, not at production volume.
- Not a certification body or compliance lab. We design with compliance in mind and can prepare for it, but formal testing and certification is done by accredited third parties.
- Not a finished-product vendor. The sensing platform is a working prototype under active development, and the published results say exactly what has and has not been measured.
- Not a large team. That is deliberate, but it means scope is chosen carefully rather than absorbed.
